Pride Lafayette Hosts Fundraiser to Kick Off Pride Month | Community

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – Pride Lafayette is hosting a fundraiser for an Outfest-themed drag show and reveal party this Saturday.

This event is a fundraiser for Outfest which takes place in August.

In addition to the show, guests can enjoy free pizza and dessert with the purchase of a ticket.

Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for students, and free for children under 12.

The event is for all ages and Pride Lafayette Vice President Amber Gibson says she expects a good time.

“Outfest isn’t just a fundraiser, but it’s an opportunity for everyone to come together in a happy and safe community,” Gibson said. “There will be a drag show starting around 7:30 p.m. We will have four performers playing each of the Golden Girls characters.”

This weekend’s event is a great way to kick off Pride Month. It’s also time to shine some light on what Pride Lafayette does as an organization.

This is a group of volunteers who work with other organizations in the area to make the community a better place for members of the LGBTQ community.

“We all want to be authentic. We want to be true to who we are and I want to see that continue to thrive and grow,” Gibson said. “And allowing more people to have that space to go out and even if they’re not comfortable going out safely to know that they’re not alone and that we’re all in this together.”

Saturday’s event will take place at the Arts Federation in Lafayette this Saturday from 7-9pm.
