Pella Garden Club holds flower show at Scholte House | Radio KNIA KRLS

Those looking to place an order for tulip bulbs can capture unique sites featuring Pella’s favorite flowers before they do so.

Nola Luebbert and Delores Boerigter both say that an annual Pella Garden Club flower show has been held at Tulip Time for several years with a great tradition, and this year various art competitions using tulips and other plants are presented. at Scholte House.

“I think the show itself, or at least showing the tulips, started in the 1950s, and what’s interesting is that my great-uncle was one of the exhibitors at that show, and then the garden club, formed around 1963, and we’ve been doing the show ever since,” Boerigter says.

To be judged, you must have at least one tulip in the arrangement,” says Luebbert. “We have around 17 members and the vast majority have entered the show. We also have a few people from the general public who want to come and try out their skills, and they are being judged as well.

The Pella Garden Club Flower Show is on display at Scholte House on the north side of the square. While there, those who come to see the show can also place an order for tulip bulbs for the upcoming planting season.
