New downtown Coral Springs development announces hotel chain for property

CORAL SPRINGS, FL – The chain of hotels planned for the new Cornerstone complex in downtown Coral Springs will be Hyatt Place, the project developer said on Wednesday.

Construction of the hotel – which will include a rooftop bar – will likely begin in 2024 as part of the office, residential and retail complex on the southwest corner of University Drive and Sample Road, said Rod Sheldon, chairman of Predeso Property Investments, which is developing the complex.

“The new Hyatt Place hotel will be the crown jewel of downtown Coral Springs,” Sheldon said in a press release.

The complex replaces the Coral Springs Financial Plaza which was demolished and is still being cleared.

The long-planned Cornerstone project is expected to launch new construction in the city’s downtown core and attract new businesses and visitors.

Construction on Cornerstone is expected to begin in the coming months with the resort’s 352 luxury rental units completed by early summer 2023.

Sheldon said the hotel will be developed by ADËLON Capital and managed by AD1 Management.

“We are delighted to welcome Hyatt Place Coral Springs as the next component of the Cornerstone mixed-use development,” said Kristi Bartlett, director of the Coral Springs Economic Development Office. “The inclusion of an upscale hotel with select services adds to the transformation of downtown and makes it a true Coral Springs destination.”
