An organization dedicated to gun violence reduction is hosting an event in Louisville. The Whitney Strong Organization is launching “Save A Life” kits at its We Can Stop It event. The kits will include lifesaving tools such as a tourniquet and training information to stop uncontrolled bleeding from shooting victims. Guests will also learn the proper handling and storage of firearms. see the increase in gun violence in our city and in our country, and you can feel helpless in these situations, and this event gives you the opportunity to take action to help prevent gun violence,” said Austin. The event is taking place from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Ten 20 Brewery in Butchertown on Wednesday, May 18. There are still a limited number of tickets for sale online. Tickets to the event include the following: A Whitney/Strong Save A Life kit for the ticket holder A second complimentary Save A Life kit to be distributed by Whitney/Strong in Louisville neighborhoods most affected by gun violence Hands-on training with a STOP THE BLEED Coach Taco Bar by Happy Belly Bistro, plus a choice of the event’s signature drink or a glass of craft beer from the Ten20 Networking and Community Building menu. The Whitney Strong organization is launching “Save A Life” kits at its We Can Stop It event.

The kits will include vital tools such as a tourniquet and training information to stop uncontrolled bleeding from gunshot victims.

Guests will also learn the proper handling and storage of firearms.

The event coordinator is Whitney Austin, who survived the 2018 mass shooting at the Fifth Third Bank building in Cincinnati.

“Right now it is difficult for many people to see the increase in gun violence in our city and in our country, and you may leave feeling helpless in these situations, and this event gives you the opportunity to to do something to help prevent gun violence,” Austin said.

The event will take place from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Ten 20 Brewery in Butchertown on Wednesday, May 18.

There are still a limited number of tickets for sale online.

Tickets for the event include the following:

  • A Whitney/Strong Save A Life kit for the ticket holder
  • A second free Save A Life kit to be distributed by Whitney/Strong in Louisville neighborhoods most affected by gun violence
  • Hands-on training with a certified STOP THE BLEED trainer
  • Taco Bar by Happy Belly Bistro, with a choice of the event’s signature drink or a glass of craft beer from the Ten20 menu
  • Networking and community building
