Essex Library hosts ‘Scenes of Essex’ exhibition throughout April

ESSEX— River Valley Artists have “captured the beauty and uniqueness” of Essex in a series of paintings shown at the Essex Library this month.

A punch and cookie party to celebrate ‘Scenes of Essex’ will take place on Saturday from 2-3.30pm, when a number of performers will be on hand, according to a press release.

The library is located at 33 West Ave.

Much of the exhibits on display focus on the Cross Lots reserve across West Avenue from the library, with scenes in all seasons – from dogs on paths to a dogwood grove to trees blanketed in a blanket of snow , according to the press release.

River Valley artists hail from Essex, Chester and Deep River and hold a studio tour in the fall and show year-round at various locations in the three cities.

The next exhibition, “Abstract Works,” will be on view at Ben Parker’s Studio/Gallery, 1 N. Main St., May 6 through June 14.
